DYODE was established in 2008 as GEOMIK INC by George Mikhail who worked as an independent consultant. George joined forces with his former colleague and Head of eCommerce at PacSun Tim Katz in 2014 to start DYODE. Together, they created the ultimate plug-n-play eCommerce division.

GEORGE MIKHAIL

George Mikhail is senior retail executive with 13+ years of brick & mortar and eCommerce retail experience. Using his degrees in Computer Science, Graphic Design, and Business, George worked in eCommerce and strategy roles at Kelley Blue Book, Tilly’s and Pacific Sunwear. His expertise is in eCommerce and DTC Technology, Digital Strategy and Marketing, Merchandise Planning, Operations, Logistics, Visual Merchandising, Project Management, Financial Planning, Staffing and Sourcing. In addition to being the Co-Founder of DYODE, he is also an Adjunct Professor at Cal State Fullerton in the Mihalyo School of Business.

George founded Geomik Inc., an eCommerce consulting company, in 2008, where he acted as the interim VP of eCommerce and Chief Operating Officer for several clients including Guess, Affliction Holdings, Love Culture, Source Interlink Media (TEN), Internet Brands, Branded Online, Planet Blue, WIldfox Couture and more. He co-founded DYODE in 2014 alongside his former PacSun colleague, Tim Katz, overseeing the DTC /eCommerce business of many clients including O’Neill, Tadashi Shoji, Qalo, WSS, 686, Matix, Johnnie-O, and more.

TIM KATZ

Tim Katz is a retail industry professional with 15+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of all things necessary to run a successful e-commerce business including web development, design, project management, analytics, marketing, merchandising and finance. As the co-founder of DYODE, Tim is responsible for eCommece & Omni-Channel Strategy, P&L Management, Re-Platforming, User Experience, Web Analytics, Data Mining, Digital Marketing, Merchandising, ERP, CRM, Inventory Management, Online Business Development, Digital Strategy and Global Logistics.

Tim spent six months as Head of Marketing with Rakuten.com, a global e-commerce site that connects buyers and sellers in a dynamic marketplace, offering over 20 million products in 24 categories and includes a network of over 5,500 small and large business shop owners. Before Rakuten, Tim spent 11 years with Pacific Sunwear in various digital roles, culminated in his role of Director of E-commerce.

Under DYODE, his most notable role includes serving as Chief Marketing Officer for Active Ride Shop, a Southern California-based retailer with 30 stores. In this role, Tim oversees both the Marketing and E-Commerce teams, and notable accomplishments include successfully turning around a non-profitable e-commerce business, implementing new full stack technology such as WMS, PIM, BI and migrating the E-commerce Platform from Magento to Shopify. On the marketing side of the business, he has implemented CRM, re-established the value proposition and merchandise / brand direction of the company and re-vamped all advertising including implementing full digital advertising, print and physical media solutions.
