The Challenge
Halston sells dresses, gowns and ready-to-wear, and its online store, then branded Halston Heritage, ran on Symphony Commerce. Halston had no development partner, and it wanted off the platform.
The brief was a straight replatform: the same Halston experience on Shopify Plus, with no new features and as few apps as possible. Halston's team also wanted pages they could edit themselves, without code, and native product filtering. On the marketing side, access to the old ad accounts had been revoked, so paid search had to start again from nothing.

The migration
DYODE moved Halston's customers, orders, products, promo codes and content pages from Symphony Commerce into Shopify Plus.
The storefront started from a ready-made Shopify theme, customized to Halston: navigation, homepage, collection and product pages, cart and checkout branding, and a landing page template. The theme was built out in sections, so Halston's team could rearrange and edit pages on their own. Bronto, Halston's email platform, was connected to the new store.
After launch
DYODE stayed on to support the theme. Collection pages got native filters for size, color and style, with sizes listed in number order, and infinite scroll.
The homepage got a setting that places text over an image or below it, and the main navigation got a transparent dropdown.
Paid search, social and affiliate
DYODE rebuilt Halston's Google and Bing search and Shopping campaigns from scratch. On Facebook and Instagram, DYODE ran prospecting, dynamic product ads, retention and lead generation, plus remarketing across channels.
DYODE also set up Pinterest and managed Halston's affiliate program on Pepperjam, with a monthly affiliate calendar.
Amazon
Under a separate statement of work, DYODE took on Halston's Amazon channel: advertising, vendor operations, and catalog and listing optimization.
The Results
Halston left Symphony Commerce for a Shopify Plus store its own team could run, with editable sections, native filters and the same look its customers knew.
The ad accounts were rebuilt from zero, and the store, search, social, affiliate and Amazon work ran under one partner.
