The Challenge

Mad Engine makes licensed apparel for properties including Disney, Marvel, Netflix, Fortnite and Minecraft, and a large share of it sells on Amazon. Every design and colorway is its own listing, so the catalog runs to a very large number of product pages.

Mad Engine came in with a priority list of ASINs it wanted fixed first. It had no in-house marketplace team to do the work, and its sales data sat in separate systems that didn't talk to each other.

The Approach

DYODE turned the priority list into monthly batches. Each listing got the same treatment: a rewritten title and bullets, a new image stack, and A+ content where the listing supported it, all built from shared templates so hundreds of pages stayed consistent.

Image production was AI-assisted, so a Mickey tank or a Fortnite tee could get on-model shots and detail images without a photo shoot per design. A weekly call and a written executive summary kept Mad Engine's leadership on each batch.

What a rebuilt listing looks like

The first batch covered more than 100 ASINs. A later batch rebuilt 218 more from Mad Engine's approved list. The batches ran across Disney, Fortnite, Minecraft, Lego Ninjago and Sonic lines.

Every rebuilt listing follows one image stack: the product, an on-model shot with an officially licensed partner badge, a callout image for the tear-away label, ribbed collar and double-needle stitching, a fabric and features panel, and a size chart measured on the garment.

Reporting and hiring

Marketplace data for Mad Engine came from more than a dozen APIs, with Rithum the largest. DYODE wrote the Power BI requirements and implementation plan, then built the first dashboards: Sales & Margin and an Executive P&L.

DYODE also helped Mad Engine staff its own marketplace team, writing interview questions and screening candidates. That process hired a Marketplace Content Optimization Lead.

Before marketplaces

The relationship started with Mad Engine's streetwear brands. Under one statement of work, DYODE ran paid search, paid social, email and SMS for both LRG and Neff, including the move of their SMS programs to Attentive.

The Results

Hundreds of Mad Engine's priority Amazon listings, from Mickey & Friends and Lilo & Stitch to Fortnite and Minecraft, now carry rewritten copy and the same full image stack, built from one set of templates.

Mad Engine has a marketplace reporting plan and its first Power BI dashboards, plus an in-house hire to keep listings moving. DYODE has worked with Mad Engine across its brands and its marketplace business since its first marketing engagement.
