The challenge

Robert Graham is a menswear brand known for bold printed shirts, contrast cuffs and limited-edition runs. Its online store ran on Magento Enterprise, hosted at Rackspace and built up by its previous agency with dozens of extensions: Amasty navigation and promotions, Hawk Search, Listrak, Kount fraud screening, an Authorize.Net card vault, and custom modules for its Collector's Club loyalty program and its A2000 order system.

When the brand moved development away from that agency, it needed a team that could learn the codebase fast, find what was fragile, and keep the store taking orders while it did.

The audit

We audited before we changed anything. We documented the server and Redis cache setup, every installed extension, the product feeds and every cron job, then compared Robert Graham's code against core Magento Enterprise to see what had been overridden.

We ran three security scans (Foregenix, MageReport and a penetration test) and reviewed PCI and customer-data handling, the payment gateway, the old agency's custom extensions, unused tracking pixels and site speed. A separate UX audit went through the store on desktop and mobile. One finding: the fit guide was a 23-page PDF, and we recommended size charts on each product page instead.

What we fixed

Order confirmation emails had stopped sending. We traced it to the cron queue: a Collector's Club import was working through a mostly blank file, and a log-cleaning job ran so long that other jobs sat idle. Stopping and rescheduling those jobs got confirmations going out again.

We installed Magento's outstanding security patches and re-ran the scans, took customer passwords out of account confirmation emails, cleared unneeded files after a low-disk-space alert, compressed product images, and worked with Rackspace on outages such as a product feed blocked by a server config file.

We also added the tracking the team asked for: Google Analytics events on the fit guide and on product photography, Hawk Search, Quantcast and Bing pixels, and verified ownership in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. And we built an extension that applies a promotion from the link in a marketing email.

The results

Robert Graham got a documented map of its store, from the server to every extension and cron job, and a development team that knew the code well enough to fix problems at the source.

Order confirmations went out again, known security patches were installed, account emails stopped carrying passwords, and the brand had a running list of fixes and recommendations to work through.
